Recently, the girl group T-ara has been on a hectic schedule with three to four different appointments a day. Their busy schedule has given them only a short amount of time to enjoy a meal, so they have chosen to eat the quickly prepared meal of instant cup ramen and kim bap (rice rolls).

T-ara stated, “When we are busy, the 10 minute meals of cup ramen and kim bap are the best. The calorie count is very high, so it seems like we’ve stopped dieting.” Hopefully, T-ara will get a good rest soon so they can enjoy a proper meal together.

Fantasy K-Pop Collab: BAP Zelo + Birdy

When choosing artists to pair together for Fantasy K-Pop Collab, the inspiration usually comes from a mix of different places.

Sometimes it is inspired by critics, other times by the fans, ocassionally by the artists themselves as they mention a musical peer they admire or would like to work with.

Such is the case for this week's mash-up of BAP's lead rapper Zelo and UK-based folk singer Birdy.

On October 25, the Korean star posted the music video for Birdy's song "People Help the People" to his Twitter account with the message, "I can learn quite a lot from my same-aged friend."

Both Zelo and Birdy, whose real names are Choi Jun Hong and Jasmine van den Bogaerde respectively, are just 17-years-old, but have already made a strong impact on the pop music industries of their respective countries.

Zelo hit the scene as the youngest member of hip-hop idol group BAP and Birdy has been impressing fans in the Great Britain since she won the nation-wide talent contest Open Mic UK at the age of 12.

In November 2011, Zelo and fellow group member Bang Yong Guk released a single "Never Give Up" introducing his peppy style of rapping and sparking interest in the six-member group before their official debut the following January.

In England, the young British songstress also first officially crashed onto the music scene in 2011 with her version of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love" which became her first charted single making it to number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. Not long after its release, the song made its way across Europe and charted in a handful of other countries eventually rising to number 1 in the Netherlands.

Since their debuts, both Zelo and Birdy have seen continuing success around the world.

Zelo and his group BAP have released three EPs, a handful of international hit singles including "One Shot," "Warrior" and "Badman," embarked on an international tour that took them across the United States as well as around Asia, and are currently in the midst of their official Japanese-language promotions.

Birdy released her first album in November 2011 which contained ten cover songs and one original. Her follow-up album, Fire Within, dropped in late September of this year across Europe and October 1 in the US and, so far, has received mostly positive reviews.

In contrast to her first release, Fire Within is made up entirely of original compositions, showing that even at a young age, the singer has definite talent in her profession.

Birdy pre-released the track "Wings" in July while "No Angel" served as her title track upon the full album's official unveiling.

It is obvious that these two young talents vary quite a bit in terms of musical style and appearance - Birdy, coming from a indie folk genre and Zelo with his high-energy, flashy K-Pop variety of rapping do not initially scream "collaboration." But that may just be the key factor in making a successful crossover song.

It is also worth noting that Zelo and BAP are not all hard-hitting beats and aggressive dancing. Earlier this year with the release of the track "Coffee Shop," the guys slowed things down and showed off their jazzy sides.

Combining the UK singer's sweet, soulful tones and piano melodies with interspersed rap verses from Zelo would not only make for an interesting song compositionally, but would also offer up an opportunity for the two youngsters to prove that age is just a number, especially when one is overflowing with talent like the two of them. By composing the tune together, Birdy and Zelo would also have the ability to send a profound message to their listeners.

Zelo mentioned there was a lot he could learn from Birdy, but mix the two together on their own project and there is probably a lot we could all learn from both of them.
